OLYMPIA, Wash. -- Police arrested five people in connection with a riot last month at Evergreen State College.

The suspects -- three men and two women -- range in age from 18 to 23, officials told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reporter Richard Thompson.

Arrested were Jake Silverman, 19, Peter Sloan, 18, Monica Ragan, 18, Nina Hinton, 19, and Chase Hill, 23.

The Feb. 15 riot erupted during a hip-hop concert that ended with a police car being overturned and looted.

Police said Hill had the back seat of the overturned patrol car in his possession and was charged with theft.

Silverman was arrested Wednesday, accused of rioting with a deadly weapon. Prosecutors said he used a tree branch to beat on a patrol car as it was being destroyed.

Two member of Evergreen’s soccer team were among those arrested. Ragan is accused of stomping on a police car and smashing out its windshield. Police said the other soccer player, Hinton, is accused of rioting and malicious mischief.

Detectives said Sloan spray-painted a patrol car and other property at the riot scene.

All the suspects except Sloan are students at the college.

Police said investigators will seek warrants for more suspects as they get additional evidence.
