FEDERAL WAY, Wash. -- The pastor of a great-grandmother found strangled to death in Federal Way is talking about her family's grief.Detectives are still trying to figure out who murdered 75-year-old Jane Britt and left her body in the trunk of her car.Outside the church where Jane Britt was an active member, Pastor Vic Hippe read this statement from her family on Saturday.“Jane Britt was an elegant, caring, gentle person. She's going to be missed greatly by all,” said Hippe.
RAW VIDEO: Britt’s Pastor Reads Family’s StatementOn Wednesday, after her son reporter her missing, police found Britt’s body in the trunk of her Mercedes. The car was parked outside the garden terrace nursing home, where Britt's husband of 56 years is under care for parkinsons.“This brutal act at the very steps of a facility dedicated to the care of senior adults is unbelievable. We still have difficulty realizing she is gone, taken from us so quickly by one senseless act of violence,” said Hippe, reading from the family’s statement.Jane Britt would visit Frank here nearly every day.“She was his link to life, his hope and his love. He is devastated, confused, depressed by her absence,” read Hippe.Jane Britt was strangled to death. Police say they have no motive for her murder.

They hope fingerprints or other physical evidence will lead them to her killer.Britt's family is echoing the plea made by police and asking anyone with information about her killing to come forward. They are planning a memorial service at Saint Luke's Church next Wednesday at 11 a.m.
