Arrest Made In Death Of Woman Found In Trunk

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. -- Police have arrested a 24-year-old man in the death of a woman whose body was found in the trunk of her car in Federal Way last month, reported KIRO 7 Eyewitness News.Federal Way police said the man suspected in the killing is a certified nursing assistant at the Garden Terrace Care Facility, where the victim's husband is a resident.The Britt family released a statement Friday regarding the arrest: “We were shocked by the sudden and senseless crime that took the life of our beloved mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Today we are saddened to learn a worker from the care facility she was visiting that night has been arrested in connection with her death.”The Britt family went on to thank police officers, investigators, church family and the Federal Way community.The body of Jane Carol Britt, 75, was found in her car that was parked at the facility.Police said the arrest was made Thursday after test results positively matched a DNA sample taken from the victim to the suspect. The man was booked into King County Jail for investigation of murder.The medical examiner’s office said Britt was strangled.
