Part of the back fence was knocked down by the stampede of people trying to get out of a Beacon Hill pub after a shooting Friday night.

Shots were fired 11:20 p.m. Friday in the 300 block of Beacon Avenue South at The Beacon Pub. The gunman is still on the loose.

A 37-year-old man was shot twice in the chest. A 27-year-old woman was also hit in the chest. And a 28-year-old man was shot in the knee.

The Beacon Pub is back open and regular patrons have returned, despite the triple shooting just days ago.

The owner's mother said the pub is a neighborhood fixture known for its friendly atmosphere.

"With all her heart she tries to keep all the bad out of here and keep it as clean as possible because it is a neighborhood bar," said Laura Francis, the pub owner’s mother.

Eyewitnesses say the lone gunman was at the corner of the bar, he ordered a drink, and then opened fire.

A police spokeswoman would not speculate on a motive, but employees and eyewitnesses say the suspect was targeting the female victim, his girlfriend.

Even though the shooter is still on the run, the owners aren't worried their customers won't return, they believe this is an isolated incident.

"They are not going to have a problem coming back, but I think we are going to be watching who is walking in that door a little bit more," said Francis.
