SPANAWAY, Wash. -- Police are looking for the driver of a sport utility vehicle who fled the scene of a collision that left a motorcyclist critically hurt. The SUV -- an early '90s white or light-colored Ford Explorer -- collided with the motorcycle late Friday morning in Spanaway, sending the motorcyclist bouncing off the SUV's windshield and onto the ground, witnesses said. The SUV driver then sped off.The victim, a Spanaway man in his 20s, was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He was talking to medics as he was taken away, officials said.Video from Chopper 7 showed the crashed motorcycle on the side of the road, where a tow truck was arriving to take it away. The motorcycle was heading westbound on 168th Street East near 22nd Ave East when the SUV turned left in front of it. The motorcycle struck the left front part of the SUV. Officials said speed was not a factor in the crash.Crime Stoppers is offering a $1000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the driver of the fleeing vehicle.
