TACOMA, Wash. -- A car fleeing from police crashed into the Puget Sound near Tacoma Saturday night.

According to police, the pursuit began around 11 p.m. Saturday when the Tacoma police were chasing a stolen car.

Tacoma police discontinued the chase and the Fircrest Police Department continued the pursuit. Police said the car lost control and crashed into the Puget Sound near the Narrows Marina.

Firefighters managed to get the driver and passenger out of the water. They were both taken to the hospital.
