UPDATED: 2:01 pm PDT May 11, 2008

A domestic violence situation ended with both the husband and wife left with stab wounds, said police.

Seattle police said someone called 911 around 4:20 a.m. Sunday saying they found a woman bleeding sitting in a doorway of an apartment complex in the 100 block of Eighth Avenue in Seattle.

As police officers responded to the scene, they said they found a man at the corner of Broadway and Yesler also bleeding.

Police said both victims are a married couple, but they do not know who the aggressor was.

The husband and wife were both transported to Harborview and underwent surgery Sunday morning.

Police do not know whether the couple has a history of domestic violence.
