2 Wounded In South Seattle Drive-By Shooting

SEATTLE -- Two women were wounded in a drive-by shooting at a send-off party at a house in south Seattle early Thursday, reported KIRO 7 Eyewitness News.Witnesses said the shooting occurred after a group of men were turned away from the party where people were gathering to say goodbye to a friend who was going to jail.Police said the women were standing outside a house in the 1000 block of South Henderson Street when they were hit by shots fired froma passing car. Police spokesman Renee Witt said three men were taken into custody in connection with the shooting at about 3:30 a.m.Officers who were in the neighborhood because of a disturbance call heard the gunfire, stopped a car, found a handgun and arrested three people.Both victims were transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.One was wounded in the foot and the other was in serious condition with leg and chest wounds.
