Reward Upped In Lynnwood Woman's Unsolved Slaying

SEATTLE -- The mother of a Lynnwood woman whose 2006 slaying has not been solved announced on Thursday that the reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction in the case has been increased to $36,000.Nicole Pietz was last seen at her Lynnwood home in January 2006.Pietz was reported missing on Jan. 28 by her husband. Family and friends launched a search for the woman.Her body was found Feb. 6 in an isolated area in Burien. The medical examiner's office said the 32-year-old woman had been strangled.The victim's 2003 Volkswagen Jetta was discovered in a Seattle parking lot on Feb. 22.KIRO-TV reported that the woman’s family said Pietz had an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting in Renton the morning she disappeared. She was going to be celebrating her eighth anniversary of being sober from prescription drugs. She never made it to the meeting.No arrests have been made in the case.Pietz's mother, Gael Schneider, announced the increase in reward money at a news conference.
