MOUNT VERNON, Wash. -- A woman went into the Skagit River in downtown Mount Vernon and was swept down the river about a mile, said the Mount Vernon Fire Department.

Officials reported the woman went into the river to rinse off; she lost her footing and was swept down the river about a mile.

The woman was able to get herself out of the river.

No injuries have been reported, although the woman said she was cold.
