Cedar River and Green River are closed for all recreational use until further notice because the river is too high and the current is too strong, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.

KIRO 7 reporter Stacy Sakamoto reported three separate rescues occurred Saturday on the Green River.

A total of six to eight people needed to be rescued, said officials.

Fire units are also looking for an overdue kayaker in the Green River, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said the kayaker is overdue since about 1 p.m. Saturday.
