Bottled Water Banned For County Workers

Posted: 5:53 pm PDT June 9, 2008

The King County Council finalized a ban on bottled water for county workers on Monday.

The new ordinance prohibits all county agencies, departments and offices from providing single bottles of water for workers.

Last month, Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels demonstrated the waste of plastic water bottles and pushed for more use of Seattle's tap water.

County members agreed that the ban will be good for the environment will save money.
