A man working on the new Mukilteo City Hall died in what police said was an industrial accident Thursday morning.

The man, a 33-year-old carpenter, was pronounced dead at the scene on the building's second floor, where workers had just finished pouring concrete. He was killed when he was hit by a piece of concrete pumping equipment, officials told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reporter Chris Legeros.

The city held a groundbreaking ceremony for the City Hall project -- at the corner of Cyrus Way and Harbour Pointe Boulevard Southwest -- in early March.
