SEATAC, Wash. -- Police are looking for witnesses or the person who snatched an 86-year-old woman’s purse.Ida Baker had just gotten off the #174 Metro bus around 2 a.m. Tuesday at South 152nd Street and International Boulevard in SeaTac when she was confronted, said spokesman Sgt. John Urquhart from the King County Sheriff’s Office. The assailant ordered Baker to give him her purse, but she held on to it and refused, said Urquhart. The man then pushed her to the ground and ripped it from her arms.Baker suffered a broken arm, bruises to her knees, forearm and forehead. "People like that, they could kill someone. He could have killed me. I mean it's not good, not good at all,” said Baker.Police found the purse several hours later and a few blocks south of the incident. Her driver's license, social security card, checkbook and a dollar and some change that she had were missing.Baker was traveling from north Seattle to visit her 92-year-old sister in SeaTac when she got lost while changing buses, and so she took the bus later than planned, Urquhart said. The robber may have been riding the bus with her, Baker told police. If anyone has information about this crime they are asked to call the King County Sheriff's Office at 206-296-3311 or 911.
