Police Investigating Two Suspicious Marysville Fires

POSTED: 2:16 pm PDT July 5, 2008
UPDATED: 2:22 pm PDT July 5, 2008

One man was taken into custody as two residential fires early Saturday morning in Marysville are considered suspicious, spokeswoman Stephanie Price said from the Marysville Fire District.

Crews responded to the two residential fires just after 3 a.m. Saturday in the 3900 block of 79th Avenue Northeast after neighbors called 911 saying they saw flames and smoke, Price said.

When firefighters arrived they saw one vacant house engulfed in flames and another house about 300 feet away with a small fire, Price said.

The homes appeared to be vacant and may have been slated for development.

No one was injured in the fire and damage loss is unknown.

The fires remain under investigation.
