5 Young Adults Injured In Anacortes Accident

ANACORTES, Wash. -- Drugs or alcohol were factors in a one-car accident that injured five young people in Anacortes, the Washington State Police said.The driver lost control and hit a tree just before midnight Friday in the 7400 block of Guemes Island Road, WSP said.Only the driver, 18-year-old Travis Bird, was wearing a seatbelt out of the five passengers.Twenty-year-old Whitney Shultz was airlifted to Harborview Medical Condition in critical condition, WSP said.The conditions of the other three passengers, Jenna Williamson, 20, Ian Reeves, 19, and Lisa Pfeffer, 20, are unknown.
