Police Searching For Runaway Sex Offender

MASON COUNTY, Wash. -- The Mason County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the help of the public in locating runaway sex offender Amanda Warnecke, according to KIRO 7 Eyewitness News.Warnecke, 41, is wanted for failing to register as a sex offender. She Warnecke was required to register within 24 hours of being released from prison, but failed to do so.Warnecke was required to register as a sex offender due to her guilty plea on March 25, 1996, for child molestation 2nd degree, in Mason County.That conviction stems from an incident where Warnecke and her husband raped a 13-year-old female friend of the family after allowing her to spend the night, police said.Warnecke is considered a high risk to re-offend and is assessed by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office as a Level 3 Sex Offender.This is the highest level given to a sex offender.Warnecke’s whereabouts are currently unknown.The public is encouraged to call 911 if they see Warnecke.
