Navy Seaman Rescues Couple In Dyes Inlet

BREMERTON, Wash. -- A Navy seaman is credited with saving the lives of a couple from the waters of Dyes Inlet in Bremerton Sunday.Seamen Paul Wilson and Roberto Colon were on a foot patrol in Bremerton Sunday when they spotted a senior couple having some kind of trouble. The couple screamed and waved their hands but no boats were nearby.Wilson swam 200 yards to get to the couple."I told him to hold onto the canoe and I'll pull you back in," said Wilson.The man appeared to be having some kind of medical emergency.Wilson said he checked on the man every few minutes until they got to shore. The woman had a life jacket on and was able to swim back. Paramedics said the couple may not have made it without Wilson's help.
