Help Catch A Criminal, Get Free Gas

Tacoma-Pierce County Crimestoppers is trying to fuel your interest in helping track down what the group calls the area's "top 50 most wanted criminals."

Starting Friday, authorities are offering $250 gas cards for information leading to arrests. The free gas is in addition to the monetary reward that can reach up to $1,000 in some cases.

Ed Troyer, the Executive Director of the volunteer organization, said offering free gasoline could be the key to catching some of the most elusive criminals in Pierce County.

"Gas is so expensive right now; we want to use any tool we can to get these solved. If we clean a lot of these people up, it would take a big bite out of crime country-wide," Troyer said.

Crimestoppers has identified the "top 50 criminals," which include people accused of murder, rape, child molestation, drug dealing and gang activity.
