Lynwood police need the public’s help in identifying a man and a woman accused of persuading a Mukilteo woman to donate $60,000 to a phony charity, according to KIRO 7 Eyewitness News.A woman speaking with an accent contacted the victim, 63, and said that she needed two honest people to donate money to charity. The woman showed the Mukilteo woman a roll of hundred dollar bills to support her story and then called in her accomplice to help further the scam. Both subjects convinced the victim to withdraw $60,000 in cash and then disappeared with the money. The female subject is described as a black woman, about 5 feet 1 inch to 5 feet 3 inches, possibly in her 30s or 40s, was wearing a wig, and spoke with a thick accent. She was wearing a pink blouse and black pants. The male subject is described as a Hispanic man, about 5 feet 8 inches, about 35-45 years old, no accent, and around 225 pounds. He was wearing a multi-colored shirt and a flat hat with a snap button in front.Security cameras captured the subjects' images and subjects' vehicle. The vehicle appears to be a newer, possibly 2008, Ford Expedition, black over tan in color.
