CAMANO ISLAND, Wash. -- Island County deputies searching for a teenage fugitive wanted in connection with a series of Camano Island break-ins may have come close to catching him Thursday night.A deputy tried to pull over someone who was driving erratically, and the driver jumped out of the moving vehicle and ran away. The sheriff's office said the driver matched the description of Colton Harris-Moore, 17, who was arrested two years ago and sent to a Renton group home.Harris-Moore escaped from the group home on April 30. Southern Camano Island residents said they suspected he returned when the burglaries resumed shortly thereafter. The vehicle in Thursday night's incident was reported stolen, said Sheriff Mark Brown. He said investigators found items stolen in recent burglaries in the vehicle.Camano Island residents should keep their vehicles and homes locked and be alert for suspicious activity, Brown said.Brown asked anyone with information on Harris- Moore's whereabouts to call the Island County Sheriff’s Office at 360-678-4422.
