The 144-car Elwha ferry will return to the Anacortes/San Juan Islands route at the start of the service day on Saturday morning, Aug. 16, said the Washington Department of Transportation.

The Elwha ferry has been out of service since Aug. 6 and was replaced with the 90-car Sealth ferry.

The vessel lost power after there were problems with its propulsion control cooling system problems.
