Friends Gather To Remember Domestic Violence Victim

REDMOND, Wash. -- Friends and coworkers of a woman murdered by her husband last month gathered on the eastside to remember her Wednesday night.Police said Melissa Batten was gunned down by her husband in the parking lot of a Redmond apartment complex. He then committed suicide, authorities said.Batten, who worked at Microsoft, had a restraining order against her husband and had also moved.The service was held by the Eastside Domestic Violence program, which has safe houses and resources to help victims escape their abusers.
