Police are hoping surveillance video will help catch burglars who targeted a string of businesses in Lacey and Olympia.

The video shows two people wearing ski masks and gloves as they broke into a cash drawer at a Lacey Subway restaurant.

"They are smashing windows, going in the front, pulling the cash registers and then leaving," said Lt. Jim Mack of the Lacey Police Department.

The owner of Lacey Rare Coins said it took burglars two minutes to smash open display cases and make off with thousands of dollars in coins and cash.

"It is kind of a gut-wrenching thing. You don't know how much was taken or how much damage was done," said Dennis Reed.

At Stir Crazy Espresso, burglars got cash from the till, stole some cookies and biscotti, then disconnected the surveillance video system and stole that, too.

Police said they believe the two men seen in the surveillance video may also have a getaway driver.

Detectives said even though the burglars disguised themselves, victims hope someone recognizes them and turns them in.

Anybody with information about these crimes is asked to call the Lacey Police Department.
