WENATCHEE, Wash. -- A man was killed when his Airborn Ultra-Lite aircraft crashed at the Chelan Municipal Airport Saturday, reported KIRO 7 Eyewitness News.

Sheriff Mike Harum said Chelan County sheriff's deputies and Chelan Fire and Aid were dispatched to the airport and found the wreckage of the aircraft on north end of the west runway.

Deputies said they found the body of a man inside the cockpit.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending the notification of family members.

The National Transportation Safety Bureau will investigate the cause of the crash.
