SWAT Team Arrests Violent Suspect In Kent

KENT, Wash. -- A police SWAT team arrested a violent suspect in Kent Saturday morning.Kent Deputy Police Chief Mike Painter said that the 42-year old Kent man was arrested after assaulting his girlfriend in their home.Painter said that the man was armed with a handgun and had made threats to harm police if they tried to arrest him.The SWAT team surrounded the house near Princeton Avenue and Hampton Way, and then deployed two flash grenades.Painter said that the suspect, who has not yet been identified, came out of the house and was arrested. The girlfriend was treated at the scene by medics.
