SEATTLE -- In her jail diary obtained by KIRO 7, Amanda Knox claims her innocence in the case of her British roommate who was killed in their Italian apartment."Do you know what it feels like for someone to call you a liar? Straight to your face when you are telling the truth? Stupid liar! They hit you. I can't stand this feeling of being hated for something I didn’t do," wrote Knox.Knox was a University of Washington student who has been behind bars for nearly 11 months accused in the stabbing death of her roommate, Meredith Kercher."She was beautiful, smart, caring and fun, and she was murdered,” Knox wrote. In the diary, written during the month after the slaying, the 20-year-old Knox speaks fondly of Kercher.Knox describes prison life as boring, but tolerable. Sometimes she doodles. She says she doesn’t like Italian police."I remember what I did that night and there's no way they can prove that I was there, and especially that I was in Meredith's room, because it is impossible. They lied to me when they told me they knew I was at home, because that is impossible. I wasn’t at home," she wrote in her diary. Crime scene video shot by Italian police showed Kercher's half-clothed body was found under a comforter in the home she shared with Knox and two other roommates. It shows blood on the walls, the floor, the door handles and the bed.
Seattle Lawyer Says Amanda Knox Case 'Not Fair' In the days after the killing, Knox and her boyfriend, Rafaele Sollecito, were questioned and arrested. It was reported police found a knife containing evidence. Knox heard about it from a guard."He was the first person to tell me about this so called knife that has my fingerprints on it and Meredith's DNA on the blade. And I told him I don’t know anything about it. I never dragged a knife around and he just persisted. Your fingerprints, her DNA. I just told him I was innocent and that I'd wait for other proof to prove I am innocent," Knox wrote.Knox, Sollecito and the third suspect Rudy Guede are expected to be in court this Saturday.
