TUKWILA, Wash. -- A Tukwila police officer on a motorcycle was involved in a crash with a truck Tuesday morning.

Police said the officer was driving northbound on Interurban Avenue South at Interstate 5 with his lights and siren on when a box truck turned in front of the officer, resulting in a crash.

Paramedics at the scene said the officer's injuries were not life-threatening. He was transported to Valley Medical Center in Renton.

The officer has been released from the hospital. He will be sore, but his injuries are minor, said Mike Murphy of Tukwila Police Department.

Interurban Avenue was closed in the area of the crash and onramps to I-5 and state Route 599 in the area were also closed while the Washington State Patrol investigated.
