2-Alarm Fire Breaks Out On Yacht In Port Orchard

PORT ORCHARD, Wash. -- A two-alarm fire broke out at the Port Orchard Yacht Club Friday morning.The fire destroyed 196 36-foot Chris-Craft boat and its covered boat house.Firefighters and the Coast Guard responded shortly after 5 a.m. to find the yacht burning. No other vessels were damaged.The fire was contained by 6 a.m. when the vessel sank. No one was hurt.The owners, who live in Belfair, told KIRO 7 they bought the vessel three years ago and described it as their "dream boat." They said the yacht had two staterooms and two bathrooms.The boat and dock structure was estimated at a value of $65,000.The Kitsap County Fire Marshal said the cause has not yet been determined.
