A man suspected of robbing a bikini barista stand in Tacoma was arrested by Fort Lewis Military Police, said Detective Ed Troyer of the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department.

Military police noticed a vehicle go through the main gate without stopping Monday night. Police pursued the car until the driver crashed, Troyer said.

Detectives identified the driver as Patrick Lamp, who had a felony warrant out for his arrest after detectives said they believe Lamp and an accomplice robbed the Java Girls espresso stand in Tacoma on Jan. 3.

Lamp is also suspected in multiple other armed robberies in the Tacoma area, said the sheriff’s office.

Police found used syringes with an unknown substance while they were searching Lamp, Troyer said.

Lamp was booked into the Pierce County Jail on numerous charges including robbery. He was recently released from prison and has an extensive violent criminal history including robbery, burglary and firearm possession, the sheriff’s office said.
