A three-car crash in Seattle's Interbay area kept 15th Avenue West blocked for several hours during the evening commute on Friday.

Police said two of the vehicles collided head-on at 15th Avenue West and West Armour Street, leaving several people hurt Friday afternoon, police said.

Police said the driver of one vehicle in the crash, a Toyota Highlander SUV, was speeding recklessly weaving in and out of traffic and struck two other vehicles. Neither of those drivers were seriously hurt.

The Toyota SUV then crossed the center line and hit a Honda SUV head-on, injuring two women in the Honda, police said.

One woman went to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, her passenger has non-life threatening injuries, Seattle police said.

Chopper 7 video showed firefighters tearing the roof off two cars to free people inside.

Police said they have a drunk driving specialist at the hospital interviewing the driver of the Toyota SUV to determine what role drugs or alcohol might have played in this crash.
