A man has a broken jaw, broken face bones and numerous teeth removed after an assault at the Federal Way Transit Center.

The 32-year-old man from Kent told police that he was waiting for a bus at about 11:15 p.m. Monday when he asked a black male in his teens to lower his voice because he was being loud, said Raymond Bunk of the Federal Way Police Department.

A group of black males, ages 18 to 21, then approached the man and one of them hit him in the side of the face, the man said.

The victim turned and faced the male and they began a physical fight, Bunk said. While the victim and a man were fighting, another male in the group came from another side and struck the victim in the side of the face, causing him to fall, Bunk said.

The victim was initially transported to Saint Francis Hospital by ambulance for treatment and later transported to Harborview Medical Center where he is currently in stable condition.

The group of males left the transit center and police were unable to locate them.

Police described the two attackers; the first one is a black male with black braided hair, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, wearing long dark shorts, a white T-shirt, dark-colored shoes and a blue or black baseball cap.

Police are also looking for another black male, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, wearing long dark shorts, a black T-shirt with white lettering, dark-colored shoes and a black baseball cap with a yellow bill.

A friend of the victim, a 36-year-old man from Federal Way also witnessed the assault.

An investigation continues. Anyone with information should call 911.
