An 86-year-old man who was struck by a Community Transit bus while crossing Marine Drive in Stanwood last month died of his injuries on Friday.

The man was in a motorized wheelchair and was crossing Marine Drive near the Warm Beach Senior Community Center when the bus, turning right onto Marine Drive from the senior center, struck him in the crosswalk on April 7 shortly before noon, police said.

Snohomish County Sheriff's Department collision investigators said they expect to complete the investigation later this week following the completion of an autopsy by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner's Office.

No criminal charges against the bus driver are anticipated, the Sheriff's Office said.
