Phone Service Cut On Camano Island

Posted: 9:27 am PDT June 5, 2009Updated: 2:25 pm PDT June 5, 2009

Land line telephone service was disrupted on Camano Island Friday.

Authorities said construction being done on the Mark Clark Bridge resulted in the cutting of a fiber line.

The outage means no 911 service is available. Fire officials said those who have an emergency should use a cell phone or go to the nearest fire station.

Camano Island Fire and Rescue was advised that normal telephone service is expected to be restored by mid-afternoon Friday.
