Seafair Royalty Crowned

SEATTLE -- Seafair crowned the new king and queen of the city’s biggest summer festival Saturday aboard a cruise ship moored in Elliott Bay.Comedian Pat Cashman will rule as King Neptune LX – the 60th king of Seafair.Darlene Corkrum, senior vice president for marketing at Virginia Mason Medical Center, is the new Queen Alcyone X – the 10th in her line.Throughout Seafair the royal couple will perform several knighting ceremonies that recognize outstanding citizens of Seattle.They will also ride in the Alaska Airlines Torchlight Parade July 25.The coronations took place aboard Princes Cruise Lines Golden Princess at Pier 91.
