SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. -- A home near the Snohomish County town of Maltby was vandalized Monday by someone who broke in and used a family member's BB gun to shoot up the home.

Police said the culprit opened fire inside the home, shot out windows and then shot chickens raised by the family's children.

"First I saw the broken windows. Then I came out and saw the chickens and started crying. It was sad," said resident Angelica Vasilyev.

The family said they wanted to show KIRO 7 their damaged home as a warning to their neighbors to lock their homes.
