Man Killed In Shooting At SeaTac Intersection

King County sheriff's detectives are investigating an overnight shooting at an intersection in SeaTac in which an 18-year-old man died from from his injuries.

Tukwila police first responded to the shooting at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of South 140th Street and Military Road South after neighbors reported hearing sounds of gunshots or firecrackers.

Shortly after the calls to 911 were received, a shooting victim was brought to the emergency room of Highline Community Hospital in Burien, where he died shortly after.

The victim had been in the back seat of a car that was heading southbound on Military Road South with four friends when he was shot.

Police said that before the shooting, a vehicle began following the victim’s car and then several gunshots were fired from the car as it turned onto South 140th Street.

The Sheriff's Department said the victim is believed to be from California and was in the area visiting relatives.

Police placed six evidence markers at the intersection where bullet casings fell and a bullet hole marked a nearby fence.

Military Road was closed in the early Thursday morning hours during the investigation.

There is no description of the suspect vehicle and no apparent motive for the shooting, police said.
