A 3.7 magnitude earthquake woke up residents living near Whidbey Island Wednesday morning a little after 5 a.m. According to the University of Washington seismology lab, the quake was centered about two miles southeast of Coupeville, but Island County Sheriff’s dispatchers said there were no reports of any damage or injury.

KIRO 7 viewer Connie Copeland said, “I was sitting here and all of the sudden, all the windows shook first…then this big boom happened right on top of the roof, it sounded like, so it was a real sharp, quick quake.”

The UW seismology lab said the quake was at a depth of 36 miles and was strong enough that people in Seattle were also able to feel it.
