Two people were killed early Thursday in a violent rollover crash on a road in Orting.

Pierce County Sheriff's Detective Ed Troyer said the crash involved one car that rolled multiple times.

Police and firefighters found one victim alive at the scene. On the way to the hospital, the person told medics that there may be another person at the scene of the crash. That victim died shortly after, Troyer said.

Firefighters returned to the scene and used thermal imaging equipment and K-9 units to locate a second victim, a woman, dead at the scene.

Troyer said both victims were not wearing seatbelts and were ejected from the car.

Initial indications are that the crash may have been intentional and occurred at a very high speed, Troyer said.
