Car Identified in Fatal Hit-and-Run

Thanks to the help of engineers at General Motors, Washington State Patrol detectives now know the make and model of the car involved in the May hit-and-run collision that killed 15-year-old Heather Trickler.

Detectives sent pictures of the wreckage found at the scene of the fatal crash to GMC, which then identified the pieces as parts belonging to a 1995 blue and tan Chevrolet Astro Van.

On May 30 Trickler was walking on the shoulder of State Route 2 near Homeacres Road in Snohomish County when she was hit and killed. Detectives now believe that the van that hit her did stop for a short time but then fled the scene.

State Patrol officers still do not know whom the van belongs to and are asking the public to come forward with any information they may have. To contact the Washington State Patrol call 360-658-2588.
