Marysville Woman Gunned Down By Boyfriend, Police Say

A 63-year-old woman was shot multiple times by her boyfriend in Marysville Wednesday, police said.

Snohomish County Sheriff's Office spokesman Rebecca Hover said the shooting occurred at the couple's home in the 4400 block of 128th Street Place Northeast at 12:35 p.m.

Hover said the woman's 70-year-old boyfriend opened fire on the woman in front of several family members who were in the couple's living room.

"The man was in the process of moving out and for some reason, that we're still trying to figure out, he walked into the living room and shot her in front of everyone; her daughters and the visiting couple," Hover said.

"We were sitting there and we heard a bang and at first, we thought it might have been a firework, until we heard it again," said neighbor Roxanne Pinto.

The man then fled in a black Ford Bronco and was taken into police custody following a pursuit on Highway 530 that ended in the town of Oso, police said.

Police apprehend the victim's husband in Oso.

The woman, who was in critical condition, was stabilized by medics in an ambulance and then taken to a location where she was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center, the Marysville Fire Department said. She was shot four times. Later Wednesday afternoon, she was upgraded to serious condition and was undergoing surgery.

Esmeralda Silva has known the victim for 20 years and said the suspected shooter moved in about a year ago.

"They weren't getting along. She's got her five girls and she just didn't like the way he was treating them," Silva said.
