Teen Accused Of Attack With Pit Bull Says Not Guilty

A teenage girl accused of a vicious attack with a pit bull said in a SeaTac courtroom Tuesday that she’s not guilty.

The teen is accused of assaulting two women and prompting a pit bull to attack the victims on June 21.

She didn’t say anything in court on Tuesday, but her attorney entered a not guilty plea on her behalf.

Detectives said the 16-year-old girl became outraged when two women tried to get the defendant and a group of kids to stop kicking and hitting the pit bull.

"She opened my car door, yanked me by the hair, drug me across the passenger’s seat, got the phone out of my hand and started hitting me over the head with the phone,” said one of the victim’s, Inga. She wanted her last name to be withheld.

She and another woman had to be taken to local hospitals for their injuries.

"The facts are concerning, but even more concerning is this young woman's attitude," said deputy prosecutor Jason Simmons.

In court documents, prosecutors said the defendant admitted to the attacks, showed no remorse, and used profane language saying, "I stomped that (expletive). I had my dog (expletive) up that (expletive). I should have had my dog kill that (expletive)."

The teenager's attorney said the prosecutions' allegations are not true.

"We are not in a position today to discuss the facts of the case, so we can't refute the rather inflammatory remarks by the state," said defense attorney Martha Walton.

"This was a vicious, vicious attack," said Judge Charles Johnson.

He wasn't inclined to allow the 16-year-old defendant to be released to electronic home monitoring, as requested by her attorney.

With another charge of third-degree theft pending, the judge ruled the teen be kept in juvenile detention.

She'll be back in court next Monday.
