Search Suspended For Man Missing From Ferry

SEATTLE -- Authorities suspended their search Monday for a person missing from a Washington State Ferry headed to Whidbey Island.Washington State Patrol Trooper Trent Cain said surveillance video showed a man jumping from the ferry Cathlamet early Monday. The Coast Guard and local authorities searched Puget Sound for about four hours.The man's unclaimed vehicle was discovered at about 12:44 a.m. Monday, while the ferry was docked at the Clinton terminal on Whidbey Island. Coast Guard Lt. Beth Roscoe said a water and air search was conducted in the Puget Sound between Mukilteo and Clinton. But the searchers did not find anyone in the water. The Washington State Patrol did not release a name or any other details about the man but said his family has been notified.
