Gunshot wounds killed a man whose body was found outside an Extended Stay America hotel in North Seattle Sunday morning, police told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News.

A jogger reported seeing a person on the sidewalk outside the hotel in the 13300 block of Stone Avenue North at about 6:30 a.m.

Police and fire department medics arrived to find the body of a man in his 20s and shell casings near his body.

"We didn't really know what was going on," said Breann Hamilton, a guest at the hotel. "I didn't know what to think. I thought maybe a pedestrian got hit."

Hamilton and a friend said they didn't hear any gunshots, but another man who was staying at the hotel told KIRO 7 he heard what sounded like several gunshots.

Police would not say if the victim was a guest here, but investigators spent several hours searching one of the rooms.
