2 Prius Hybrids Vandalized Same Night In Ballard

SEATTLE -- Police are looking for who vandalized two Toyota Priuses, 45 minutes apart, in Ballard on Friday night.MyBallard.com first reported a Prius was vandalized at about 11:30 p.m. Friday and less than an hour later a second Prius was hit.The car alarm went off on the second car, but no one got outside in time to see the culprit.One Prius owner said he has no idea why vandals targeted the car he got just three months ago.Some residents have their own theories. “Times have been tough and we get a lot of kids over here, partying and what not. And I mean people don't have a lot to do, I guess, with their spare time,” said Ballard resident Tosh Orozco.A Google search revealed several Priuses have also been targeted in California. At least six hybrids were damaged by vandals in Petaluma, Calif. last year.No one seems to know why the vehicles are being vandalized and police do not have any suspects.
