Man Rescued From River Tells His Story

A Snohomish County man is recuperating from being rescued with a fish ladder after he was sucked under the water along the Stillaguamish River near Granite Falls Tuesday.

Daniel Lott said he was swimming with friends when he was suddenly pulled under.

“All of a sudden, the current just grabbed me and just sucked me under down this chute crevice area,” Lott said. “The next thing I know I got choppers and guys in wetsuits all around me.”

The Lake Stevens Fire Department helped rescue Lott who was not hurt in the incident. Lott said this experience hasn’t deterred him from swimming in the river and he said he will probably return to the falls again but swim in a much calmer area.
