Redmond police said Microsoft security personnel reported a sighting of a cougar, then a coyote Thursday afternoon.

Workers at the Microsoft campus in Redmond at first received a security message warning of a cougar near the campus, a Microsoft employee told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News.

Police said they received a call about an "unconfirmed cougar sighting" from Microsoft security at 10:15 a.m.

A second call from Microsoft at 1:38 p.m. said the sighting was confirmed to be that of a coyote, not a cougar, Redmond police said.

Police said the animal was seen near building 30.

The security message to employees said that Fish and Wildlife agents were responding, the employee said.
