Duplex Destroyed In Sumner Fire

A fire swept through a fourplex in Sumner Saturday evening.

The spokesperson for Pierce County Fire tells KIRO TV that the fire occurred in the 5800 Block of March Lane.

Two of the units were destroyed and two other units were salvageable, but had smoke damage. One resident was transported to a local hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. There were no other injuries reported as a result of the fire.

Firefighters from Milton Fire, Edgewood Fire, Central Pierce Fire and East Pierce Fire all assisted in fire call.

Pierce County Fire and Sumner Fire are continuing to investigate in order to figure out the cause of the fire and a damage estimate.
