WHITE CENTER, Wash. -- A man was hospitalized after a shooting Thursday night in White Center.

Police said a 41-year-old woman shot her 55-year-old boyfriend at least two times at a home near Southwest 117th Street and Eighth Avenue.

The man’s brother and the woman’s 15-year-old son, who live with the couple, were home at the time of the shooting.

The 15-year-old called police. When officers arrived, all residents came out of the house except the alleged shooter, who refused commands from police, deputies said.

Police later brought in a SWAT team, which entered the home took the woman into custody just before 2 a.m.

The woman was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of first degree assault.

Police said a small caliber handgun was recovered inside the house.

The victim's injuries were not life-threatening.
