Homeless Man, Bystanders Help Capture Robbers

A homeless man and other bystanders helped catch two boys who robbed a woman on a downtown Seattle street, police said.

Police said a woman was using her iPhone in the area of Second Avenue and Stewart Street at 9 a.m. Thursday when she noticed two teenage boys following her.

As she walked away, she was pushed into a doorway by one boy while the other grabbed her phone, police reported.

The teens then fled.

The woman ran after the teen and was able to catch one boy with help of bystanders. The other teen was chased by a well-known transient, but lost sight of the boy in the area of Macy's, police said.

Officers found that boy still holding the iPhone.

Both boys were booked into the Youth Service Center for investigation of robbery.
